44 years ago, on September 8th 1966, the first Star Trek episode was aired. I for one am very grateful it lived long and prospered until I could discover it. Thank you Star Trek for generations of happy fans, a legacy of tropes, countless hours of exciting space battles, fascinating alien planets, epic friendships and slashy looks, and for inspiring cell phones that flip open. :-D
And by the way, as far gone as I am, there are crazier fans than me... :D
