10 reasons life is good

1. Just bought my travel insurance for Vancouver, which completes the logistics for my trip to attend the STAR TREK CONVENTION IN JUNE!!!! :-DD A whole week to visit the gorgeous city, then 3 days with the lovely guerabella to gorge on all things Kirkspockish and shatnoyish :D Hotel is finally settled as well, and I bought a ticket for a photo op with Leonard Nimoy. *heart* I read this would be his last year doing conventions. I'm SO glad I decided to go!

2. Dad received the results of his abdomen X-rays and the doc told him it seemed to be yet another kidney stone. However painful I know those can be, it was a staggering relief because I was terrified it might be a cancer. He's going to meet an urologist for more X-rays and blood samples next week.

3. Not even leaves in the trees yet, but it's been over 20 degrees outside and sunny for the last 4 days! And for once I got my legs done on time, so I was able to wear pretty short skirts *g*.

4. Watched Search for Spock and Voyage Home back to back and they were awesome! :D I also read the stories by my two favorite authors in the contest zine First Time 54 (Deanna Gray and Dovya Blacque) and they exceeded my wildest hopes.

5. The computer guy at work as well as told me I looked good. :-D Well, it wasn't quite as tactful, but that's what it amounted to ;). And it was the cutest of the two guys, too :D

6. My favorite cousin told me he totally wanted to come to my brother's wedding in Mexico and he was doing all he could to get that week off. Yay! I'd heard from my aunt it wasn't sure he and his brother would be there, and thought maybe they weren't all that eager; I was afraid I'd find myself all alone with a bunch of couples I didn't know all that well to tour the clubs and such. Now I know he'll really try to get the time off.

7. Had birthday dinner with co-workers and they both loved their gifts. The black sheep was a stroke of genius :D

6. Bought 3 new ST fanzines that were all on my wish list in the last week, and my favorite seller just e-mailed me to say she'd received a copy of Alien Brothers!!! **SQUEEE* I'd been looking fo rthat zine for an eternity. It has Ring of Shoshern in it, and two stories by Jenny Star.

9. Found how to add embedded videos from Youtube in my posts, yay!

And last but not least:

10. This study said chocolate is good for your health! :-D. OK, it's only a square a day, and dark dark chocolate, but it still lowers your risks of heart attacks by 40%, which is pretty awesome.


Yes, life is good. :-D
