Just got started on season 2 of Merlin...

and poof! Gwen is suddenly wearing make-up and fine dresses in delicate pastel fabrics, instead of the coarse brown and blue servant dresses in S.1. I guess that's a subtle way of showing her upgrade to "love interest". Amazing the things you notice when you finally watch all the episodes in chronological order :).

It does feel like it came out of nowhere though. I mean, everybody knows she'll end up with Arthur, obviously, she's bloody Guinevere. But they spoke alone together what, twice in the whole season 1? She lectured him in Ealdor (1.10, Moment of Truth) and they had 2 scenes together in 1.13: when she spoke to him when he was unconscious from the Questing Beast, and a few lines after he woke up.

 Now in two episodes of S2, she's managed to save his life, fall on him (throwing her heaving bosom in his face), slept in the same room as him and they've kissed. I just wish it had been more of a gradual slope.

And first appearance of Sir Leon, future Knight of the Round Table in ep. 2.2! I'm rather proud of myself for spotting him, haha :). Although I initially mistook him for the knight with King Odin at the beginning; only realized my mistake when the real Leon appeared during the jousting practice. But still, it was the right episode :).
