I am not a huge Star Trek fan, **ducking because I do not want you to throw anything at me** but I wanted to say hi! I read your last post and wanted to say that you need to follow your heart!! Screw the idea of we should be at a certain place in our lives at a certain age... Live your life to the fullest... because as they say... You have one and there is no Rewind button to press to do it again! Thanks for sharing that though... makes me think of my own life and if I need to take it in a new direction! Hope you are having a great day!
Hi Cecile!! Wow, thank you so much for dropping by my tiny blog :-D When I set it up I never realy expected anyone else but me to ever read it. I'm glad you took the time to read :). And I love your line about the no rewind button :-D That is so true, and even at my age I already have that feeling of time slipping inexorably between my fingers. To tell the truth, the problem is not as much about feeling I should be at a specific place at a specific moment in my life, but the fact that I still feel I have no long-term goal or desire - besides travelling and reading as much as I can. ;) Lol. But, anyway, I do think I'll follow your advice, because it sounds like a fabulous adventure and something that I'd later regret not having done :).
And lol, no problem at all about you not being a Trek fan. I'm totally new at that myself - it started about two weeks ago when I saw the movie :-D. But I'm catching up fast *g*.
Hey Mary! Well... when you become one of my friends... I tend to want to keep in touch!! If thats okay! =) When I set mine up a few months ago, I never expected to have the friends I do now! But I am excited that you are one of them! I love your place... Never pass up an opportunity of a lifetime... Wouldn't want you looking back 5 years from now... wishing you would have did it... I know what you mean about long term goals or desire. I guess that is where I am too... I am married (check), I have a daughter (check), I have a job - that I like (check), I did attend college - but new hubby and life and daughter's school came first (check), have roof over head, food to eat, clothes on back (check, check and check...) NOW WHAT!! LOL!! See what I mean... take what is "given" to you!!
I'd be happy to count you as a friend and keep in touch - as much as life and circumstances allow us to :). Leaving on another trip would sure put a cramp on my number of e-mails, but hopefully I'd be able to use this blog to mass update my friends on what I'm doing, which was one of my objectives when I set it up :). I actually created it last spring, before leaving on my Great European Tour in July, except I barely found the time to e-mail my parents, nevermind bloging when I hadn't even had the itme to check hoe Blogger worked :-D I'm getting a tiny bit better now. If only I could find how to add a left sidebar and center the darn header pic I'd even be proud of myself :-D I love YOUR blog, it's really nice, crammed full of stuff, colors and pictures... reminds me of my bedroom, actually :-D BTW, I noticed earlier today your slidshow of David Boreanz - J.R. Ward said he is her face for Butch. Remember that when you read the novels :).
As for the opportunity of a lifetime...yeah, I'm often a bit afraid ofgrasping them. I feel i'm not reading to settle and I don't know what I want to do with my life, so why not wander off to test a few things in the meantime? I think the knowledge and understanding you acquire while traveling is unvaluable. I've travelled quite a bit already, but travelling abroad is something I always wanted to do, and doing it in an Englis-speaking country will allow me to improve my English signifiantly as well. I'd originally thought of England or Scotland (secret dreams of walking itno Gerry Butler, maybe ;D), but hey, if my friend wants to go to Australia, let's go for it :) A husband, house and children are somewhere in my master plan...but I'm in the mood for being selfish right now, so men and family can wait a bit :-DDD You can be proud of your accomplishments too - it was important toyou and you worked for it. Now you can see where life brings you (and it is never too late to go on a trip with hubby and daughter ;))
Hey Mary! Well, thank you! I think I can help with the a left side bar if you want... Just email me... that way I can look for the site that I went to for help with that.. And the banner... I might be able to help with that too!
I will definitely keep that in mind when I am JR Wards series! Thanks for that bit of info *he is such a hottie*
Girl, travel abroad! That is one thing that does become difficult to do with a hubby and child... is travel. It becomes more expensive when you are paying for 2 other people. My daughter, Brooke, will be going to France/Spain for 10 days next summer, through school. I am sooooooo excited that she is getting that opportunity! So, grab life with both hands and see where it takes you!!! You never know.. maybe one of your trips might take you on the path to meet that someone special **wink wink** Hope you have a great Friday!
Globe-trotter extraordinaire, epicurian, avid reader and champion procrastinator. I'm here, but probably dreaming of being there, and desperately need to get a life.
